Materials and Craftsmanship
What are the stones made of?
We use authentic Sedona area flagstone, not imitation cement, resin, or cast molds. Each piece is real stone with natural color variation and texture. The engraving is cut directly into the stone so the design is permanent and made for a lifetime outdoors.
Do you use cement or faux stone?
No. All of our markers are made from genuine stone. We do not pour concrete into molds or print on fake stone panels. The weight, feel, and look all come from real Sedona area flagstone.
How are the stones shaped and finished?
We start with natural stone in sizes around sixteen by sixteen inches and twenty by twenty inches. Each piece is hand chiseled so the outline looks organic instead of machine cut. After engraving we seal the stone with a penetrating, non sheen sealer that protects it while keeping the natural look.
What kind of paint do you use in the engraving?
We use premium monument grade outdoor stone paint in the engraved areas. It is designed for long term use on headstones and architectural stone, so it resists fading, flaking, and peeling even in strong sun and harsh weather.
Personalization and Design
Can I customize my stone?
Yes. Every stone is made to order. You can choose address numbers, family names, ranch or cabin names, short phrases, or simple artwork. We are also very flexible with fonts and layouts, and we often work one on one with customers to create a custom piece that fits their home.
Can I use my own artwork or logo?
Yes. We accept most artwork and logos. After you send your file we review it and make sure it will engrave clearly in real stone. Then we work with you directly to fine tune the layout until everything looks right before we start engraving.
Can you engrave both sides of the stone?
In many cases we can engrave both the front and the back of a stone. There is an additional charge of about fifty dollars for double sided engraving when the design and stone size allow it. If you are unsure, ask us and we will confirm what is possible for your piece.
Do I get to see the design before you engrave?
Yes. For custom work we prepare a layout based on your wording and artwork. You can request adjustments to font, spacing, or placement until you feel good about the design. Once you approve it we move into engraving.
Sizes and Natural Variation
What sizes do you offer?
Our primary sizes are around sixteen by sixteen inches and twenty by twenty inches, which work well for most porches, entryways, and yard placements. The exact outline can vary slightly because every stone starts as a natural piece, then we hand chisel the final shape.
Will my stone look exactly like the pictures?
Every piece of flagstone is unique. Color tone, veining, and edge shape all have natural variation. Your stone will follow the same general style and size, but the specific pattern in the stone will be one of a kind. That is part of what makes these feel like heirloom pieces instead of mass produced signs.
Ordering, Production, and Shipping
How long does it take to make and ship my stone?
Once your design is set, we usually engrave and finish your stone in about three to four business days. After that it ships with a tracked carrier such as UPS or FedEx. Most deliveries arrive within two to five business days depending on your location.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. We offer free nationwide shipping within the United States on our stones. Paid shipping upgrades are available at checkout if you need a faster delivery window.
Will my order include tracking and insurance?
Every stone ships with tracking and is packaged for safe transit. If a piece arrives damaged, we will replace it. We know these are special gifts and important markers, so we treat safe delivery as part of the service.
Can I rush an order for a specific date?
In many cases yes. If you have a fixed date such as a housewarming, anniversary, or holiday, reach out before you order and tell us your timing. We will let you know what is realistic and do everything we can to meet that schedule.
Installation and Care
How are the stones installed?
Each stone includes an aluminum mounting plate and screws. Installation is simple. You secure the plate to the stone with a screwdriver, then mount the stone in the chosen spot. Most customers complete the install in a few minutes with basic tools.
Where can I place my stone?
Common locations include near the front steps, beside a porch, at the end of a driveway, on a pillar, in a flower bed, or near a garden path. If you are unsure where a stone will read best, we are happy to talk through placement ideas with you.
How do I care for my stone?
Care is simple. Now and then you can rinse the stone with clean water to remove dust or pollen. Avoid harsh chemicals or aggressive power washing on the engraved area, since that can wear the surface over time. The sealer and paint are chosen for long outdoor life with only light maintenance.
Durability and Weather
Will my stone really last outdoors for years?
Yes. These pieces are made from real stone that already lives outdoors in nature. The engraving is cut into the surface, then we use premium outdoor stone paint and a penetrating sealer. The stones are designed to handle intense sun, heavy rain, and repeated freeze and thaw cycles while staying readable.
Will the paint in the engraving fade?
We use monument grade outdoor stone paint that is made for long term exposure. Over many years all materials weather a little, but our goal is for your stone to remain clear, readable, and attractive for a lifetime of normal outdoor use.
Is this really a generational or heirloom style gift?
That is how many of our customers think about it. A real stone marker with a family name, address, or memorial message is the kind of piece that stays with a home for a very long time. It is made as a daily part of the property, not a seasonal decoration.
Problems, Changes, and Support
What if my stone arrives damaged?
If your stone is damaged in transit, contact us right away with photos of the box and the stone. We will replace it. We fully expect these to arrive in good condition and stand behind that.
What if there is a mistake in the engraving?
If we made an error that does not match the approved design, we will correct it and send a replacement. If the mistake was in the information provided, we will work with you on the best next step. In either case, reach out and we will make sure you are taken care of.
Can I change my design after I place the order?
Changes are often possible if we have not started engraving yet. Contact us as soon as you know you want to adjust wording or layout. Once the stone is engraved, changes require a new piece, so early communication is important.
What if I have a project that does not fit the standard options?
We handle many custom projects for cabins, ranches, vacation homes, and unique properties. If you have an idea that does not fit the usual options, send us a note with what you have in mind. We will let you know what is possible, give you a clear price, and guide you through the design.
